The Biblical Ways To "CAST OUT DEMONS" by Bro Carlos A. Oliveira

***THERE has been some confusion regarding TERMINOLOGIES applied when
CASTING OUT DEMONS. This type of confusion, I believe, can easily be
used by evil spirits, to their advantage, as a tactic to delay their
expulsion.

"GOOD IDEA" DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN "GOD'S IDEA"!

*** QUESTION:

- Can believers expel demons "in the NAME of Jesus Christ" or it has
to be always done in the "AUTHORITY of Jesus Christ" instead?

In the portions of scriptures below we see that Paul COMMENDED the
demon to leave in the NAME of Jesus Christ and NOT by the AUTHORITY of
Jesus Christ.

Acts 16:16-18 (New International Version)

16 Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a
slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She
earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17 This
girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are
servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be
saved." 18 She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so
troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the NAME of
Jesus Christ I COMMAND you to come out of her!" At that moment the
spirit left her.

Acts 16:16-18 (New King James Version)

16 Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl
possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters
much profit by fortune-telling. 17 This girl followed Paul and us, and
cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God,
who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18 And this she did for many
days.
But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I COMMAND
you in the NAME of Jesus Christ to COME OUT of her.” And he came out
that very hour.

*** CONFUSION AMONG BELIEVERS WHEN CASTING DEMONS OUT CAN TURN INTO CHAOS
AND CAN DELAY THE PROCESS OF DEMON EXPULSION. Demons love to cause believers
to disagree in certain terms during deliverance, etc...

*** ANOTHER FORM OF CONFUSION DEMONS CAN USE TO THEIR ADVANTAGE DURING
THEIR EXPULSION:

Jude 1:9 (New International Version)

9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the DEVIL (SATAN)
about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation
against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

IN THE ABOVE PASSAGE THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL ADDRESSED "SATAN", NOT "DEMONS".

** IN THE PASSAGES BELOW IT WAS SAID THAT JESUS SENT OUT "72 MEN, NOT
72 ANGELS". IN THIS PARTICULAR PASSAGE IT SAYS THAT HE GAVE AUTHORITY TO
CAST OUT DEMONS TO "MEN" AND NOT TO "ANGELS", SO THE MISSION OF
EXPELLING DEMONS ARE FOR "MEN" AND NOT FOR "ANGELS". ANGELS COULD ASSIST IN THE
DELIVERANCE BUT IT IS NOT THEIR ASSIGNMENT TO CAST THEM OUT OF PEOPLE.

Luke 10:17-19 (New International Version)

17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the DEMONS
SUBMIT to US in your name."

18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have
given YOU AUTHORITY to TRAMPLE on snakes and scorpions and to OVERCOME
all the POWER of the ENEMY (SATAN AND DEMONS); nothing will harm you.

*** AGAIN, PLEASE, READ THE FOLLOWING PORTION OF SCRIPTURES:
Acts 16:16-18 (New King James Version)

This girl followed Paul and us, and
cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God,
who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18 And this she did for many
days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the SPIRIT
(DEMON), “I COMMAND
YOU in the NAME of Jesus Christ to COME OUT of her.” And he came out
that very hour.

** NOTE THAT PAUL DID NOT SAY" THE LORD REBUKE YOU, DEMON", BUT,
INSTEAD, HE SAID, "I COMMAND YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST TO COME
OUT OF HER."

Mark 16:15-18 (New King James Version)

15 And He said to them (DISCIPLES - NOT ANGELS), “Go into all the
world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and
is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned. 17 And these signs will follow THOSE WHO BELIEVE (PEOPLE):
In My NAME (Not in my Authority) they (PEOPLE - NOT ANGELS) will cast
out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up
serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt
them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

IN THIS PORTION OF REVELATION 12, THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL WAS NOT TOO RESPECTFUL OF SATAN NOR TOO POLITE EITHER AS HE APPEARED TO BE IN THE OTHER PORTION OF SCRIPTURES RECORDED IN JUDE 1:9, MENTIONED ABOVE.

Satan Thrown Out of Heaven

7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

*** ALSO, I DID NOT FIND ANYWHERE IN THE BIBLE THAT WE CAN CAST OUT
DEMONS IN THE NAME OF THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB. I BELIEVE
THAT THAT CAN BE POSSIBLE... IT'S JUST NOT IN THE BIBLE.

AGAIN, "GOOD IDEA" DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN "GOD'S IDEA"!

*** ISLAM DOES NOT PREACH NOR BELIEVE IN THE SAME GOD AS CHRISTIANS,
therefore it is consider a False Religion.

God in Islam:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Islam, God, known in Arabic as Allah, is the only real supreme
being (SO WHERE ARE JESUS CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT FITTING HERE?),
all-powerful and all knowing Creator, Sustainer, Ordainer, and Judge
of the universe.[1][2] Islam puts a heavy emphasis on the
conceptualization of God as strictly singular (tawhid).[3] God is
unique (wahid) and inherently one (ahad), all-merciful and
omnipotent.[4] According to tradition there are 99 Names of God
(al-asma al-husna lit. meaning: "The best names") each of which evoke
a distinct characteristic of God.[5][6] All these names refer to
Allah, the supreme and all-comprehensive divine name.[7] Among the 99
names of God, the most famous and most frequent of these names are
"the Compassionate" (al-rahman) and "the Merciful" (al-rahim).[5][6]
Creation and ordering of the universe is seen as an act of prime mercy
for which all creatures sing God's glories and bear witness to God's
unity and lordship. According to the Islamic teachings, God exists
without a place.[8] According to the Qur'an, "No vision can grasp Him,
but His grasp is over all vision. God is above all comprehension, yet
is acquainted with all things" (Qur'an 6:103)[2]
God in Islam is not only majestic and sovereign, but also a personal
God: According to the Qur'an, God is nearer to a person than his
jugular vein. (Quran 50:16)[9]God responds to those in need or
distress whenever they call. Above all, God guides humanity to the
right way, “the holy way§.”[8]
Islam teaches that God as referenced in the Qur'an is the same God
worshiped by the members of other Abrahamic religions such as
Christianity and Judaism (29:46).[10]
